BEIJING, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Foreign trade of Shanghai rose 2.3 percent on year to a record high of 3.48 trillion yuan in 2020, according to data from Shanghai Customs.
Specifically, exports stayed basically flat with previous year at 1.37 trillion yuan, while imports rose 3.8 percent year on year to 2.11 trillion yuan.
General trade rose 4.6 percent on year to 1.87 trillion yuan with processing trade dropping 0.1 percent to 703.14 billion yuan during the period, which accounted for 53.7 percent and 20.2 percent, respectively, in the city's total.
Imports and exports of foreign-invested enterprises were 2.25 trillion yuan, up 2.9 percent on year, and that of private enterprises stood at 833.59 billion yuan, registering an increase of 11.3 percent on year. (Edited by Chen Xiaojie, Niu Huizhe with Xinhua Silk Road, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
