BEIJING, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- The cultural and tourism industry in southwest China's Sichuan Province has recovered in an orderly manner in recent months, which is estimated to receive a tourism revenue of 650 billion yuan and 430 million domestic tourists in 2020, reported Sichuan Daily Wednesday.
Since 2020, Sichuan Province has made efforts to resume work and production by introducing measures for cultural and tourism enterprises, issuing guidelines for tourist attractions, and launching online exhibitions, performances and other activities.
In addition, Sichuan has launched the construction of the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor, and assisted 5 counties, 17 towns and 24 villages to get rid of poverty. It also completed a large-scale survey of cultural and tourism resources in the province, and launched a series of theme promotion activities including the China (Sichuan) Giant Panda Culture and Tourism Week 2020, showing Sichuan's rich cultural and tourism resources to more than 30 countries and regions around the world.
In terms of cultural and tourism industry development, Sichuan has 414 key cultural and tourism projects being built throughout 2020 with a total investment of 156.48 billion yuan and 11.61 billion yuan in local government special bonds for cultural and tourism.
In 2020, 2 national 5A-level tourist attractions, 15 4A-level tourist attractions, 1 national tourist resort, 23 key national rural tourism villages, and 4 national first-class museums were set up in Sichuan Province.
