BEIJING, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), the country's largest oil and gas producer, said that its oil and gas output grew to a record high of over 200 million tonnes of oil equivalent (TOE) in 2020.
In breakdown, its gas output reached over 100 million TOE last year, surpassing that of crude oil for the first time in history, according to the corporation.
The corporation's Changqing Oilfield, China's largest oil-and-gas field, produced over 60 million TOE of crude oil and natural gas in 2020, hitting a record high.
The CNPC said it would focus on the development of natural gas for building a clean and low-carbon energy system and protecting the environment. Enditem
