BEIJING, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- South China's Hainan Province signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Unicom on Tuesday.
According to the agreement, the two sides will carry out cooperation on the application of 5G networks, new generation of information infrastructure construction, talent introduction and "smart Hainan" construction.
Feng Fei, acting governor of Hainan, noted that the two sides are expected to take this cooperation as an opportunity to strengthen digital development, work together in 5G application scenarios, tourism industry and implementation of projects.
Wang Xiaochu, chairman of China Unicom, said that China Unicom will regard Hainan as a key area and deepen cooperation with it in information infrastructure upgrading, application of 5G+ in key industries, smart city and construction of innovation research institutes.
