BEIJING, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China's top economic planner, on Monday unveiled a guideline to promote integrated development of the big data industry.
The release of the guideline means that the authorities will regulate the development of the big data industry through top-level design, remove the "isolated data islands", and promote the implementation and innovation of the big data application scenarios in industries and companies, according to industry insiders.
By 2025, data centers across the country will achieve rational distribution, green and intensive development. The country will optimize the layout of data centers, promote the service of computing resources, accelerate the integration of data circulation, deepen the innovation of big data applications, and strengthen big data security protection, according to the guideline.
The national hub nodes for big data centers will be built in key areas such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Chengdu-Chongqing, and some areas with abundant energy and suitable climate.
In terms of deepening the innovation of big data applications, the country proposes to improve the comprehensive governance capabilities of big data in government affairs, strengthen the support of big data public services, and promote the digital transformation and upgrading of the industries.
In addition to the big data industry itself, key technology products such as server chips, operating systems, and natural language processing will also enjoy robust growth in China, with the development of the big data industry, said industry insiders.
