BEIJING, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- Authorities in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region have introduced 31 measures to reduce logistics costs and improve the efficiency of logistics operations in the region, reported Xinjiang Daily Wednesday.
According to the measures, Xinjiang will promote the construction of logistics infrastructure and building an efficient operation network, as well as speeding up the construction of national logistics hubs in Urumqi, Hami, Korla and Horgos.
Efforts will be made to strengthen the construction of multimodal transport facilities and equipment, promote the construction of special railways routes and freight facilities, and use logistics standardization equipments.
Meanwhile, Xinjiang will further streamline procedures for applying logistics-related licenses, promote the control of vehicle overloading, maintain the orderly road freight market, and facilitate customs clearance.
Priorities will be given to the implementation of preferential tax policies in the field of logistics to lower the road freight costs.
While reducing logistics operation costs, Xinjiang will also improve the operation quality of China-Europe freight trains, enhance the level of modern supply chain, and quicken the development of intelligent and green logistics.
The measures also call on all departments in Xinjiang to establish a valid working mechanism to reduce logistics costs and strive for effective implementation of various polices.
It is noted that during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, Xinjiang witnessed effective reduction on logistics costs, and the ratio of total logistics expenses to regional GDP has fallen below 16 percent.
