BEIJING, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- China will speed up building a modern tourism system, said Hu Heping, Minister of Culture and Tourism, at a tourism-related forum on last Sunday.

Efforts would be made to fatten up tourism industry, foster domestic market, and release the potential of domestic demands so as to contribute to the domestic circulation, according to Hu.

Regarding specific measures, Hu said that priority should be given to supplying quality tourism products and services. To meet people's diversified and multi-faceted demands, customized tourism products and routes should be launched.

The minister also stressed the importance of developing smart tourism by taking measures like improving tourism information infrastructure, facilitating the integration of internet plus tourism, and cultivating new business models such as cloud-based tourism.

Hu called for promoting the integrated development of tourism and such sectors as culture, agriculture, industry, education, and sports to spawn new business models that will drive growth.

Noting the need to strengthen market regulation, Hu said that a service quality standard system and a third-party quality evaluation system should be set up and the construction of a trust system in the tourism industry should be accelerated.

China's domestic tourism market is projected to receive ten billion visitors per year on average, with the consumption reaching ten trillion yuan in the following five years,  according to a report issued by the China Tourism Academy on last Sunday.
