FUZHOU, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- East China's Fujian Province has ramped up efforts to speed up the construction of new infrastructure with an aim to build itself into a national-level pilot zone for innovation and development of the digital economy, according to the Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology.
Up to date, Fujian has built more than 20,000 5G base stations and achieved the full coverage of 5G network in areas above the county level, the provincial industry and information technology department said.

Since the beginning of this year, a batch of new infrastructure projects have been launched successively in Fujian.
The province saw overall 234 major new infrastructure projects start construction in the fourth quarter of this year, with a total investment of 188.1 billion yuan.
