BEIJING, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- China is expected to see sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) to reach 1.13 million units in 2020, according to a report released by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) on Tuesday.
This year, China's NEV market has gone through a V-shape recovery. Notably, NEV sales are projected to grow by 70 percent in the second half after a decline of 43 percent in the first half, according to the association.
According to the report, the country's wholesale volume of new-energy passenger vehicles, in particular, was more than doubled year on year to 180,000 units in November.
The CPCA also believed next year will witness a strong momentum of NEV with the national policies exerting great impacts on the market. In June, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) revised the separate credits mechanism to push automakers to rev up NEV output, starting from January 1, 2021.
