InfoQuest (November 27, 2020) -- Thai Prime Minister and Defense Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over the opening ceremony of Gov Cloud 2020: The Future of Digital Government and delivered a speech that the world was becoming technological and digital, government preparations allowed to solve problems amid digital technology, and Thailand was moving towards a Smart Government.

Government departments, private institutions and the public were of great significance to promote "Thailand 4.0" strategy, and the government was turning to digital service to better serve the public and all parties, Prayut said.

According to Prayut, establishing governments as a platform from 2022 to 2023 would link such governments and the public, which may simplify relevant procedures and see comprehensive information-based and real-time government services. In the process of establishing a platform-based government, proper data and information mattered a lot; the quality and transparency of government information should be further improved in public services, finance, public health, energy, tourism, media, transportation and logistics.

Prayut added that he had reiterated to the Cabinet that digital technology should be used for poverty alleviation, efforts should be made to develop information technology, but most importantly, the public should really use and benefit from it.
