PHNOM PENH, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen will participate in the opening ceremony of the 17th ASEAN-China Expo, to be held on Friday via videoconference, said a foreign ministry's press statement on Wednesday.
This exposition will emphasize boosting regional economic recovery in the post-pandemic era and maintaining the strong momentum of deepening ASEAN-China Cooperation, the statement said.
"In his keynote remarks at this important event, the prime minister will highlight the need for stronger commitment to uphold multilateralism and international cooperation in order to address the severe impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide," it said.
The Cambodian prime minister will underline the importance of developing a digital society and economy to adapt to the new normal, strengthen resilience and sustainable socio-economic development and achieve further progress.
Also, he will touch on Cambodia's endeavor to foster digitalization of production, industry, services and public administration, while carrying out resolute reform measures to improve business and investment environment.
Founded in 1967, ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
ASEAN-China Expo is an important platform for economic cooperation and exchanges between ASEAN and China, the statement said, adding that it offers great opportunities for Cambodia to expand and diversify its export market, attract more foreign direct investment and promote collaboration on all fronts with participating countries.
