BEIJING, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- The intelligent cross-border trade insurance platform results release and cooperation memorandum signing ceremony was recently held in the China Financial Information Center located in Shanghai, reported Shanghai Securities News Tuesday.
The intelligent cross-border trade insurance platform was developed and built by Shanghai Insurance Exchange and Shanghai E&P International, a local logistics information firm, jointly with multiple Chinese and foreign insurance institutions, with the think tank support of Shanghai University of International Business and Economics and the guidance of related local authorities.
As one of the the latest results of high-level institutional opening in Shanghai, the platform plays an important role in promoting international trade.
The platform aims at providing shipping companies and trade companies with "one-stop" insurance trading services. Currently, it is capable of providing functions like online insurance, reporting and claim settlement, risk assessment, and premium settlement related to import and export cargo insurance and other insurance types.
It boasts the advantages of efficient connectivity between cross-border trade-related data and insurance industry data, innovative insurance products and services for cross-border trade participants, intelligent services for trade companies, and regional influence and cooperation.
The participants of the platform signed a cooperation memorandum at the ceremony, aiming to jointly promote the application of the latest technologies such as blockchain, big data and artificial intelligence (AI) in the platform, and build it into a high-quality cross-industry and cross-region platform meeting the international standards.
