XI'AN, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Northwest China's Shaanxi Province saw its foreign trade grow 6.1 percent year on year to 308.06 billion yuan (about 46.95 billion U.S. dollars) in the first 10 months of this year, customs data showed.
The growth was mainly due to the import sector, which grew 14 percent year on year to 151.84 billion yuan, according to the customs in the provincial capital Xi'an.
The year-on-year decline of Shaanxi's exports narrowed to 0.6 percent in the January-October period, as the province posted five consecutive months of growth in exports since June amid rebounding foreign trade.
The province's trade volume with Belt and Road countries reached 50.34 billion yuan from January to October, registering 29.1 percent growth compared with the same period last year.
The province has resumed seven international air cargo routes to boost the recovery of foreign trade, said Tang Yugang, deputy director of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Commerce. Enditem
