HOHHOT, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Manzhouli, China's largest land port, has seen overall 3,073 China-Europe freight trains as of November 17 this year, up 30.3 percent year on year, according to China Railway Harbin Group Co., Ltd.
Among them, a total of 1,493 inbound trains passed through the port as of November 17 this year, a surge of 49.1 percent year on year, while 1,580 outbound trains ran through the port, up 16.4 percent from the same period of last year.
On average, Manzhouli station handled more than 100 containers per day than last year, said Cui Tianliang, vice director of the freight workshop with Manzhouli Station.
There are currently 52 routes of China-Europe freight trains via the land port, which help promote the trade between 60 Chinese cities and 28 cities in 13 European countries including Germany, Poland and Belgium.(Edited by Yang Yifan with Xinhua Silk Road, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
