BEIJING, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Rural tourism industry in northeast China's Liaoning Province has provided nearly 300,000 jobs for farmers, creating indirect job opportunities for more than 1 million farmers and attracting nearly 200 million tourists in its rural tourism since 2019, according to a work conference themed on rural tourism high-quality development in Liaoning, reported Chinanews.com Thursday.
To experience comfortable slow life in countryside is becoming a trend pursued by more and more urban residents, said Zhang Keyu, director of Liaoning Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
In recent years, rural tourism and rural home hotels in Liaoning have flourished, and a number of outstanding brands and successful cases with exemplary significance have emerged, which have become a new card of Liaoning tourism.
At present, the number of rural home hotels in the province has reached more than 600 and relevant characteristic products represented by log cabins, hot spring hotels, and forest hotels accounted for more than 50 percent of the province's total home hotels.
At the same time, Liaoning continues to innovate its rural tourism industry by giving full play to the inheritance of traditional skills, innovate excellent folk opera such as the song-and-dance duet to vigorously develop its rural cultural and tourism products.
In addition, Liaoning has also improved its transportation system, completed the construction of public service facilities for rural tourism, and actively promoted the quality of rural tourism products and services.
Since 2016, Liaoning received a total of 225.11 million rural tourist trips and achieved total revenue reaching 165 billion yuan with annual growth of more than 14.5 percent year on year in recent two years.
