BEIJING, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- Central China's Hubei Province inked a strategic cooperation agreement with China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC) on Tuesday.

Ying Yong, secretary of the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), noted that Hubei boasts advantages in science, education and industry, while CSSC can provide great support for Hubei in scientific research and industrial development. The bilateral cooperation will embrace a brilliant future.

The two sides are expected to jointly promote the extension of the shipbuilding and marine engineering equipment manufacturing industries in Hubei, enhance cooperation in the protection of the Yangtze River and new energy industry, in a bid to boost the high-quality development of Hubei Province. Hubei will also strive to create a better environment for the development of CSSC and other enterprises, according to Ying.

Lei Fanpei, party secretary and chairman of CSSC, said that the company will deepen practical cooperation with Hubei in key areas, and actively participate in Hubei's infrastructure construction, public services and pollution prevention, with an aim to make new contribution to Hubei's economic and social development.
