BEIJING, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- China's leading new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer BYD said its net profit spiked 1362.66 percent year-on-year in the third quarter of this year, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported on Thursday.
The company saw its net profit total 1.751 billion yuan (about 260.7 million U.S. dollars) during the period.
In the first three quarter of this year, the carmaker achieved a revenue of 105.023 billion yuan, up 11.94 percent from the same period of last year.
The company expected its net profit to surge between 160.15 percent and 184.93 percent year on year for 2020.
In the January-September period, BYD sold 110,941 NEVs, down 42.4 percent year on year. The slump, however, narrowed from 49.1 percent in the January-August period.
