Scavolini to aim at strengthening the East and to open in Seoul

Abstract : ​In times of lockdown and pandemics, the house and even more the kitchen have returned to the top of families' investing priorities almost worldwide; therefore, Scavolini from Pesaro (Italy), the "most loved" kitchen by Italians, expands the international perspective also to Korea.

MILAN, Oct. 27 (Class Editori) – In times of lockdown and pandemics, the house and even more the kitchen have returned to the top of families' investing priorities almost worldwide; therefore, Scavolini from Pesaro (Italy), the "most loved" kitchen by Italians, expands the international perspective also to Korea.

According to Fabrizia Scavolini, who chairs the company founded in Pesaro in 1961 by the brothers Valter and Elvino, the opening of a new showroom in Seoul is only an element of the growth plan oriented to sustainability and digitalisation.

"In 2020, we will continue to invest in strategic areas by opening other spaces in Italy and in particular abroad: Seoul is an important stage", as Fabiana Scavolini has underlined, "the Asian market confirms its strategic importance".

After the success of the U.S. branch, opened in 2009 with a first store in Manhattan, a second in New York and a third in Miami, Scavolini landed in China in 2014, in Shanghai. Next step may be Australia. "We would like to raise our flag over there and the year of our 60th anniversary may be the right occasion", as the company from Pesaro has stated.

In Korea, the monobrand showroom of 500 square metres entirely dedicated to Scavolini proposals follows the format of new stores with a selection of living and kitchen programmes, among which the MIA collection by Carlo Cracco, Diesel Open Workshop, DeLinea, LiberaMente, Carattere, Mood and Sax, together with the bathroom furniture solutions.

During the lockdown, Scavolini Team launched ArchitettoOnLine (OnlineArchitect), the online service of design consultancy, and started the communication line #LaTuaCasaTiAma (#YourHomeLovesYou)

The ability of the company based in Marche to foresee the future, by conceiving new housing conditions, has represented the key of its success: the company has widened its range of action with the most innovative furniture proposals, addressed to kitchens, bathrooms and living rooms. If the first Scavolini kitchen was designed starting from a small grocery store, the new models talk with 5G and Alexa, with voice commands and much technology.

The company from Pesaro, in collaboration with the designer Fabio Novembre and Bticino, has created the first native furniture system Alexa inside, which allows to vocally control appliances: these ideas are really much appreciated in America and Asia.

"Next year, apart from presenting the new kitchen, bathroom and living lines, and strengthening the project of the walk-in closets, we will turn 60. The aim is to become the most loved company worldwide, and achieve the results we obtained on the Italian market at an international level as well", as Fabiana Scavolini has stated.

Scavolini records a turnover of €222 million with 700 employees. 75% of the turnover is recorded in Italy; however, the share coming from the expansion in America is increasing. Moreover, also Far East and Europe have a good growth trend. The trade network boasts 900 stores in Italy and more than 300 abroad, in 50 countries. The foreign market has opened up to Scavolini: first of all, with exports at the mid of '80s, thanks to exhibitions and the sport sector, with sponsorships in the basket field.

2019 ended with data in line with the previous financial year. From the headquarter in Marche region, encouraging results come also for 2020, with "new and important orders in June", despite the difficulties related to the pandemic.
