BEIJING, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- China's environmental protection industry will usher in great development opportunities which are brought by the "dual circulation" policy proposed by the country, reported Economic Information Daily Wednesday quoting experts.

The "dual circulation" policy is defined as a policy that "takes the domestic market as the mainstay while letting internal and external markets boost each other".

As China is speeding up the building of the "dual circulation" development pattern, a series of favorable policies will be released soon, driving the environmental protection industry to develop fast, noted experts at an industry forum held recently in Chengdu, capital city of southwest China's Sichuan Province.

Against this backdrop, the ecological environment construction in China will play a more prominent role in promoting the industrial transformation and upgrading, unleashing the potential of the internal circulation market and improve the level of external circulation, said Fan Ruiping, party chief of Chengdu.

As China keeps strengthening related governance, the market space for the development of China's environmental protection industry is being released rapidly, and the industry's strategic position in the national economy is constantly improving, said Zhuang Guotai, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Environment of China.

He noted that in 2019, China's environmental protection industry had achieved an operating revenue of about 1.78 trillion yuan, up 11.3 percent year on year. The operating revenue of the environmental service sector reached around 1.12 trillion yuan, up 23.2 percent year on year.

China's environmental protection companies are also developing vigorously. According to Ma Hui, secretary-general of the China Environment Chamber of Commerce (CECC), among the 50 companies on the "China's top 50 environment protection enterprises 2020" list released by CECC, 46 are listed companies, nine of them each has a revenue of more than 10 billion yuan, and 13 of them each has a revenue between 5 billion yuan and 10 billion yuan.

It's learned that both China's central and local governments as well as related enterprises are enhancing efforts to boost the new round of development of the environment protection industry.

The country's Ministry of Ecology and Environment will input more funds, and cooperate with related departments to introduce and implement preferential policies related to ecological environmental protection in finance, taxation, price and trade.

Enterprises should actively integrate into the "dual circulation" development pattern, making better use of the domestic and international markets to participate in ecological innovation, so as to seize the opportunity in market competition and achieve high-quality development, stated Qiu Xiaoping, full-time vice chairman with the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce.
