BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- 2020 Suzhou Xiangcheng International Economic and Trade Forum kicked off on Thursday in Suzhou, east China's Jiangsu Province.
Experts, scholars and business elites from home and abroad gathered here to discuss the city's industrial development prospect, and outline the grand blueprint for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
It is learned that about 88 projects with a total investment of 53.3 billion yuan will be signed during the forum.
These projects are mainly centered on emerging industries such as digital finance, big data, industrial Internet, intelligent Internet of Vehicle, advanced materials, biomedicine, etc.
An Limin, official with the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) expressed the hope that Xiangcheng District of Suzhou will seize the opportunity, grasp the trend of technological development, actively promote integrated innovation, and quicken the pace to build itself into the highland of industrial innovation in the Yangtze River Delta region.
He also noted that the NDRC will support Suzhou and Xiangcheng to jointly promote industrial development.
Gu Haidong, party chief of Xiangcheng District, stressed that Xiangcheng district is striving to provide a benign business investment environment, actively grasp the opportunities for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and go to extreme length to gain national strategic advantages.
In recent years, Xiangcheng has remained committed to vigorously developing the emerging industries such as big data, industrial internet, intelligent Internet of Vehicle, etc., and now the district is home to 1,230 enterprises in these industries.
