InfoQuest (October 22, 2020) - Thailand’s deputy prime minister and minister of public health Anutin Charnvirakul announced that the first batch of tourists with STVs from Chinahad been tested for COVID-19 before departure and would undergo the 14-day quarantine after arrival, and required intensive care for those tourists.
Anutin stated that the Ministry of Public Health was ready for the proposal of Department of Disease Control to shorten quarantine period to 10 days andrelevant rules may be amended after ongoing communications among other agencies.
Countries with effectiveepidemic prevention may let their guard downproperly and those in the midst of serious outbreakshall approach with prudence, Anutin said.
Thailand could not let all tourists in and shall still halt the disease at its borders; further, Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration meetings may fully consider and decide to lift the state of emergency, Anutin added.
