ZHENGZHOU, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- The artificial intelligence (AI) industry in central China's Henan Province has taken on a sound development momentum, with the scale of AI related industries exceeding 30 billion yuan, according to an official with the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Henan Province.
Local government has attached great importance to AI and promote it as one of the six major strategic new emerging industries in the province.
A batch of competitive enterprises and research institutions like Zhengzhou Yutong Group Co., Citic Heavy Industries Co., Zhengzhou Xindajiean Information Technology Co. and Luoyang Intelligent Agricultural Equipment Research Institute Co., have emerged from Henan. They have mastered domestic first-class key technologies in the fields of autonomous driving, smart sensors, image recognition and machine vision, voice recognition, fire protection (patrol inspection) robots.
Henan Province will vigorously promote the integrated application of AI industry and the real economy, and strive to build an AI innovation ecosystem with a solid foundation, leading technology, active innovation and open collaboration. Henan will try to reach the domestic advanced level in some areas of AI technology and application by 2022, with the scale of core industries and related industries expected to reach 70 billion yuan.
