BEIJING, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- East China's Shanghai has newly set up 110 smart health service stations in January to September this year, providing much easier access for residents to self check-up, testing, health evaluation and management thus realizing precise individual health guidance, according to Shanghai Municipal Health Commission on Tuesday.
Covering most towns and streets in the city, the smart health service stations are widely spread in the city in residential areas, industrial parks, comprehensive senior service centers, public sports centers, and enterprise buildings, according to the commission.
The service stations now boast more functions compared with last year. Residents now can go to the nearest ones for setting up or getting access to their personal health accounts using ID cards or social security cards and enjoy up to 11 self-service health testing, 11 fitness tests and 15 self health evaluations at the stations.
The stations also help residents sign up with family doctors and make further doctor appointments as well and family doctors will be at the stations from time to time to give on-site instructions and suggestions.
Under the internet plus health concept, the service well deploys cloud technology that make testing results, health guidance from the service station available to residents anytime and anywhere, the commission said.
It is noted that Shanghai built and introduced its first batch of 85 smart health service stations last year and had completed this year's target of 110 ahead of schedule. (Edited by Yan Yulan, Niu Huizhe with Xinhua Silk Road, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
