BEIJING, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia's Exhibition Pavilion, a huge attraction at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo and later renamed "Moon Boat" for its boat-like structure, will be replicated in Jiangnan Global Harbor, a super large urban complex in Changzhou City of east China's Jiangsu Province.
On September 26, a ground-breaking ceremony for reconstructing the pavilion has been held in the Jiangnan Global Harbor, materializing the related friendly cooperation memorandum signed between Changzhou and Saudi Arabia in November 2018, under which rebuilding the pavilion would be carried out by Yuexing Group.
Earlier in March, Yuexing Group inked formally an agreement with the Changzhou National High-Tech Zone to forge ahead the special cultural tourism project, including the Saudi Arabia's Exhibition Pavilion and the Silk Road maritime park as well.
"We are glad and honored to have the 'Moon Boat' to be replicated in Jiangnan Global Harbor and as a super cultural and expo project, 'Moon Boat' means much to Jiangnan Global Harbor as it is likely to promote cultural tourism businesses and contribute to shaping Changzhou into a star cultural tourism city," said Ding Zuohong, chairman of Yuexing Group.
The to-be-built Saudi Arabia's Exhibition Pavilion creates a platform for Changzhou City to participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and will strengthen Jiangnan Global Harbor's image as a life, consumption and entertainment center in Changzhou, said Qi Jiabin, party chief of Changzhou.
