Myanmar permits 6 more foreign enterprises to invest in Yangon region

Abstract : The Yangon Region Investment Committee Wednesday permitted six foreign enterprises to invest in the region which can create 3,876 local employment opportunities, the committee's release said.

YANGON, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Yangon Region Investment Committee Wednesday permitted six foreign enterprises to invest in the region which can create 3,876 local employment opportunities, the committee's release said.

With capital of 15.727 million U.S. dollars, the permitted enterprises cover the manufacturing sector of Yangon region.

Yangon region absorbs 60 percent of investment into the country, followed by Mandalay region with 30 percent.

According to the latest figures released by the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, Myanmar has attracted over 5 billion U.S. dollars' investment from 228 permitted foreign enterprises as of Aug. 31 in the present fiscal year 2019-2020 which will end on Sept. 30. Enditem
