BEIJING, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- The first INCLUSION Fintech Conference will be held from September 24 to 26 near the Bund in Shanghai, the financial center in China, to promote the city towards a global financial technology (fintech) center.
Organized by Ant Group and Alipay, the three-day event will feature a combination of online and onsite events to enable a global discussion among the financial and technology communities on how digital technology can help build a more inclusive, green, and sustainable world, especially as economies and businesses continue to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Online sessions will bring together speakers from a range of organizations, from financial institutions and technology firms to research institutes, from across the world via video link. Over 40 panel discussions aim to facilitate view exchanges on themes such as blockchain, green finance, sharing intelligence, intelligent computing and tech-driven future insurance.
Offline exhibition, covering an area of 13,000 square meters, will showcase the latest applications of technology in finance, business and digital life in a way that is accessible to ordinary people.
The future financial center must be defined by technology, said Hu Xiaoming, CEO of Ant Group.
Shanghai aims to become a globally competitive fintech center in the coming five years, according to a guideline issued by the city early this year.
According to a global financial center index report released by Z/Yen, a commercial think-tank in London, Shanghai has become the fourth most competitive financial center in the world following New York, London and Tokyo in early 2020.
