InfoQuest (September 17, 2020) - Deputy Minister of Commerce Sansern Samalapa announced his participation in the EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) teleconference with another 50 EU companies doing business in ASEAN regions.
Sansern shared the steps Thailand has taken to address COVID-19 and revive its economy whileattaching great importance of improving trade relations with the EU; both sides also discussed other trade issues.
“EU private sector highly appreciates this meeting and the EU-ABC is scheduled for the next consultation with the Minister of Commerce of Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore in late September, reflecting future trade opportunities between the EU and ASEAN region” Sansern added.
The EU-ABC, as a business council established in 2014 to promote business cooperation between the EU private sector and ASEAN, currently has members of 9 chambers of commerce in ASEAN regions and more than 30 large EU multinational companies covering a wide range of businesses.
