MILAN, Sept 11 (Class Editori) - The international expansion of ENAV is going on. The company of air traffic controllers, through the subsidiary IDS AIRNAV, has won a contract worth €2.3 million in the context of an international tendering procedure carried out by Romatsa (Romanian Air Traffic Services Administration), the service provider for the air traffic control in the Republic of Romania.
ENAV has been chosen for the provision, installation and implementation of the statistical and dynamic aeronautical information management system (AIM - Aeronautical Information Management), which will allow to gather and distribute useful information concerning security, effectiveness and regularity of air navigation. Moreover, the new system will allow the Rumanian service provider to guarantee the full integrity of data and meet the ICAO and Eurocontrol standards.
It is the second tendering procedure taking place in Romania in 2020. Last spring, the company currently chaired by Paolo Simioni had already signed an agreement with the Rumanian authority for the civil aviation (Romanian Civil Aviation Authority) concerning the introduction of a platform for the planning of flight procedures, staff training and the maintenance, for a total amount of €310,000.
During the same days, the subsidiary specialized in the management systems of aeronautic information was selected by Aeroportos De Mozambique, the company that manages the Maputo Airport in the country, for the installation of an advanced system for the aeronautic information and messages management in the airports context.
This is an active AMHS (Aeronautical Message Handling System) and a dynamic AIM (Aeronautical Information Management) called Cronos. The project will be completed by this year and it is worth €461,000.
In overall, IDS AIRNAV, since when it joined the ENAV group, has provided contracts for an amount of €22 million. Last year, non-regulated market incomes amounted at €19.2 million, by recording an increase by 42.1% compared to the previous financial year, due to the revenues provided by the IDS.
