MILAN, Sept. 2 (Class Editori) – China is betting on Italian fruit. In Emilia-Romagna, the Macfrut Digital of Cesena, an exhibition scheduled from September 8 to 10, is already sold out and the organisers (Cesena Fiera in collaboration with ICE-Agency, CassaDepositi e Prestiti, Crédit Agricole, Ismea, Natlive, Emilia-Romagna region) had to add a new pavilion – virtual, of course - to the nine already forecastedfor the launch of the event.
The tenth online digital space for fruit and vegetable is completely dedicated to international exhibitors, the Country Pavilion, where to the many participants from the five continents, the particularly large participation from China has been added. China has joined the digital edition of the fruit and vegetable event with over 50 companies representing the different segments of the fruit and vegetable supply chain, in particular the production one.
"This is a clear signal that Chinese companies have understood the project's potential and believe in this way of communicating and doing business," as Renzo Piraccini- CEO and president of Macfrut, as well as former president for 10 years of Almaverde Bio Italia, the first bio Italian brand -has explained. "Nowadays, the market needs to be attacked and faced in a different way compared to only some months ago. The indications coming from Macfrut Digital are going in this direction".
"In order to carry out business meetings and create commercial opportunities for the companies coming from China, the Promoting Centre of agricultural commerce and the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Affairs of China will organise a national Chinese pavilion at Macfrut Digital. More than 50 Chinese companies will participate to the exhibition with their fresh fruit and vegetables", as Song Juguo, general manager of Agricultural Trade Promotion Centre, as underlined. "The products involved are apples, table grapes, pears and many other kinds of fruit such as kiwi, peaches, subtropical fruit such as litchi and lemons, tropical fruits such as mango and oranges. Buyers may find also chestnuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, dried fruit, apart from peppers, tomatoes, potatoes and other vegetable products".
The Chinese delegation will also organise a Forum "China-Europe Fruit Business" which will be accessible to everyone on the Macfrut Digital website (www.macfrutdigital.com) following registration. The intense Chinese participation is part ofthe overall framework of a digital Exhibition, which records 500 exhibition modules employed in representation of the entire fruit and vegetables chain.
"The answer has been far better than expected- as Piraccini has stated- when three months ago we presented the project of Macfrut Digital we aimed at developing 200 modules. The continuous decisions have driven us to expand the number up to 500 modules. The target has been achieved and we are very proud of the answer, which represents a real challenge for the whole sector. I thank the ICE offices' network worldwide for the significant contribution".
Companies which, from now on, will submit their application for participation, will be included in a special waiting list. Essentially, it will be an exhibition event but virtual. Thanks to a free registration it will be possible to explore the commodity pavilions and all the exhibitors’ stands, in order to know the different companies offers, discover news and interact with them through the B2B integrated service.
Among the current news, there is the participation of several collective stands from the African Continents such as Angola, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenia, Ruanda, Senegal, Somalia, Tanzania and Uganda. In addition, there are several participations from South America (Chile) and Central America (Costa Rica), and also from Asia with China, Uzbekistan and Indonesia. The latter is a new entry, which will be there with two among the main export companies of tropical fruit. Moreover, there also several presences from Europe and the rest of the world.
The next "material" edition (in presence) of Macfrut has been scheduled in the Rimini Exhibition, from May 4 to May 6 2021, and, as always, it will represent the whole chain with 11 sectors: seeding, new vegetables &plant nursery, productive technologies, production, trade & distribution, technology & machinery, materials & packaging, IV range, dried fruit, logistics, services.
