InfoQuest, (Aug. 25, 2020) -- The Ministry of Commerce disclosed Thailand's trade statistics in July 2020 and found that exports shrank 11.4 percent to 18.8195 bln U.S. dollars in July, compared to market expectations of a 15-19.5 percent plunge and after a 23.2 percent fall in June; imports contracted 26.4 percent to 15.4762 bln U.S. dollars, generating the trade surplus of 3.3432 bln U.S. dollars.
In the first seven months of this year, Thailand's exports valued 133.1624 bln U.S. dollars, down 7.7 percent, imports amounted to 119.118.2 bln U.S. dollars, negative 14.7 percent, and so the trade surplus reached 14.0442 bln U.S. dollars.
Thailand's exports in July remained negative at 13.0 percent except for oil, gold and weapon industries, much shallower than a 23.2 percent decline in June and having a forecast fall of 8-9 percent for whole year.
