BEIJING, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Northwest China's Shaanxi Province reported surging rail freight of the foreign trade valuing 4.82 billion yuan in the first seven months of this year, up 1.5 times year on year, according to the Xi'an customs.
The freight of exports amounted to 2 billion yuan during the period, while imports surged two times year on year to 2.82 billion yuan.
Meanwhile, Shaanxi posted surging trade with its major trading partners, including Germany, Poland, France, Russia, and the Netherlands, amounting to 1.52 billion yuan, 450 million yuan, 440 million yuan, 360 million yuan and 350 million yuan, respectively.
Among the major commodities exported by railways, the value of solar cells, liquid crystal display panels and titaniumtim reached 310 million yuan, 270 million yuan, and 220 million yuan, respectively.
During the same period, polysilicon and textile yarns were imported for the first time since last year, with the import value reaching 180 million yuan and 120 million yuan, respectively.
From January to July, the foreign trade of logistics goods in Shaanxi Province under special customs supervision amounted to 2.86 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 9.3 times over the same period last year.
In the first half of the year, Xi'an witnessed a total of 1,667 China-Europe freight trains departed from the city, which became the main driver for the substantial increase in the foreign trade of freight transport in Shaanxi Province.
