BEIJING, July 31 (Xinhua) -- The Shanghai Municipal People's Government signed a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation with China Development Bank (CDB) on Wednesday.
The two sides will make full use of their advantages and strengthen comprehensive cooperation in the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region, protection and green development of the Yangtze River, construction of the new Lingang area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, infrastructure construction, integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, biomedicine, aerospace, equipment manufacturing, Belt and Road construction and poverty alleviation through east-west cooperation.
Gong Zheng, Mayor of Shanghai, noted that Shanghai is making all-out efforts in epidemic prevention and control as well as economic and social development. It is expected that the CDB can help boost Shanghai's urban renewal and better support its high-quality development.
Ouyang Weimin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the CDB and the bank's president, said that CDB will give a full display of its role as a policy bank, actively participate in Shanghai's construction of "five centers" in international economy, finance, trade, shipping and technological innovation, promote the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region, and help further improve Shanghai's economic and social development level.
