HAIKOU, July 27 (Xinhua) -- South China's Hainan Province saw 107,100 new market entities in the private sector in the first half of this year, increasing 22.27 percent year on year and accounting for 97.2 percent of the province's total new market entities, according to a meeting held by the local government last Friday.
It signals that various industries in the private sector have recovered steadily and shown a positive development trend.
According to statistics, as of July 22, there had been more than 1.04 million market entities of various types in Hainan. Of them, the number of private market entities exceeded 980,000, accounting for 95 percent of the total.
Meanwhile, there had been over 327,000 private enterprises in the province by July 22, taking up 91.51 percent of the total.
In the first half of this year, the added value of Hainan's private economy reached 163.9 billion yuan, accounting for more than 68 percent of the province's gross domestic product (GDP). (Edited by Zhang Yuan with Xinhua Silk Road, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
