BEIJING, July 9 (Xinhua) -- The local authority in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region recently unveils 16 measures aiming to create a sound consumption mechanism, reported local newspaper Xinjiang Daily Wednesday.
Priority should be given to improve the quality of goods, develop local brands, strengthen the service industry, and expand the import business in Xinjiang to optimize the market supply structure, according to the measures.
As for developing the tourism industry with regional characteristics, the measures vow to build a consumption complex that integrates tourism, entertainment, catering and shopping in various parts of Xinjiang while promoting cultural and tourism prosperity.
Xinjiang will also concentrate on building a consumption system that reflects local features, such as improving the sales network of local agricultural products and devoting to continuously expanding the coverage of express logistics to ensure a complete logistic system all over the region.
The progress of smart consumption requires Xinjiang to facilitate the development of 5G commercial use, an online service platform for public affairs, and service certifications on green organic products, new energy vehicles, and products of the Internet of Things (IoT), said the measures.
