BEIJING, July 7 (Xinhua) -- China's household services industry saw a faster pace of work resumption amid the country's efforts to shore up the sector, the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said.
As of the end of June, the work resumption rate of the industry had reached over 90 percent, while all large and medium-sized enterprises in the sector had re-started their business activities, said MOC official Xian Guoyi during an online news briefing on Tuesday.
To mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on the sector, China rolled out multiple supportive measures, including exempting or cutting value-added tax and social security fees, as well as providing loans at favorable interest rates.
China's household services sector employs over 30 million people, and facilitating its recovery was of great significance to ensuring job security, people's basic living needs, and operations of market entities, Xian said. Enditem
