BEIJING, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Beijing will make efforts to build itself into a blockchain hub by 2022, in order to empower high-quality economic development via blockchain technology, according to Beijing's action plan for blockchain innovation and development from 2020 to 2022.
By the end of 2022, Beijing will make itself a blockchain technology innovation center, application demonstration center, industrial development center, and innovative talent center, according to the action plan recently released by Beijing municipal government.
Specifically, the capital city will build a platform for research and development of core technologies of blockchain such as high-performance computing, trusted chip and crowd science.
Beijing will also build a series of application scenarios covering the fields of government service, financial service, urban management, public security, public health and e-commerce.
In addition, Beijing will implement preferential policies for bringing in talents and entrepreneurs from home and abroad to help develop critical blockchain technologies. (Edited by Su Dan with Xinhua Silk Road, silviasu07@163.com)
