MILAN, June 30 (Class Editori) -- The Thai Sahaviriya Steel Industries has chosen the group from Buttrio (Udine) for the downcoiler replacement of its hot-rolling mill in Bang Saphan, located in the central province of Prachuap Khiri Khan.
Once updated with the technology by Danieli, the downcoiler, which has been initially designed by another steelworks producer and has been operating since 1994, will benefit from a significant reduction in maintenance cycles, with an expected duration of more than 1.5 million tons.
In order to win the tender, a brand-new mechanics of the machine has been developed, as it has been explained by a note of the group from Buttrio (Udine). Also the reducer will be developed in the factories of Danieli Thailand in January 21, while the plant will continue to operate in the usual way.
Even during the peaks of the coronavirus emergency, the group has continued to work at full power, thanks to the global organization of its productions and technical centers, which are currently based in China, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Ukraine, Poland, Russia, as well as in Europe and in the USA.
In the last months, new orders have arrived from Vietnam and Russia by enriching the steelworks pipeline, global leader in the production of high-tech plants for steel and also producer of steel and aluminium, which, at the end of last December, had overcome the amount of 3.1 billion.
The new order from China has been received in mid-June instead, the second one since the beginning of the year, for the supply of rolling technology to Northern Copper Industry; the Technology has to be installed in Yuncheng, in the province of Shanxi.
According to the financial statement of 2019, which was closed on last June 30, in the core business turnover the plants’ supply has grown by 18%, while profit by 170%, in a situation of deep steel crisis on international markets, with a decrease in production on the main global markets.
The same situation of reconversion and plants efficiency is taking place on the Chinese market as well, which the president Gianpietro Benedetti has been strongly focusing on for 20 years, both in terms of production and supply of plants; it currently accounts for 50% of the group’s turnover.
