BEIJING, June 16 (Xinhua) -- NetEase, one of China's leading internet and online game service providers, announced on Monday evening that it established a strategic partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment to jointly develop a new mobile game.
According to NetEase, the new mobile game, named "The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War", is adapted from the hugely popular trilogy "The Lord of Rings" wrote by J.R.R. Tolkien.
Such a move illustrated the game developer's latest endeavor to further accelerate its global strategic layout.
On June 11, NetEase started its stock offering in a secondary listing in Hong Kong, the second U.S.-listed Chinese company to do so following Alibaba.
