BEIJING, June 4 (Xinhua) -- East China's Shandong Province has sped up the issuance of local government bonds this year, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported on Wednesday.
The province has issued overall 220.054 billion yuan worth of local government bonds so far this year, doubling the offering amount registered in the same period of last year.
In May alone, Shandong floated over 100 billion yuan in local government bonds, including 85.7 billion yuan in special-purpose ones.
Funds raised through new special-purpose local government bonds will flow to major projects in the sectors such as infrastructure construction and public service in the province.
