BEIJING, May 29 (Xinhua) -- China's largest organic light-emitting diode (OLED) material production base on Wednesday started trial production with the first 20 equipment installed, reported Sichuan Daily.
Located in Meishan, a prefecture-level city in southwest China's Sichuan Province, the project undertaken by Sichuan AR-RAY New Materials Co., Ltd., a local company, can produce 30 tonnes of high-purity OLED materials and 200 tonnes of other functional materials annually when completed, with an annual output value of 4 billion yuan.
The project started construction in 2018, and was scheduled to be finished at the end of 2021. The products generated will be mainly used to support the light-emitting function of OLED panels.
"The products produced by the project can be widely used in the markets of mobile phone full screens, TV screens and curved screens, meeting 25-odd percent of the material needs of domestic OLED panel companies," a person in charge of the company said.
The project will also help ease China's over-reliance on foreign OLED materials and technology. (Edited by Gu Shanshan with Xinhua Silk Road, gushanshan.1987@163.com)
