8,100 tonnes steel rails of China-Laos railway exported from Tianjin Port

Abstract : A ship loaded with 8,100 tonnes of 25-meter steel rails sailed from Tianjin Port recently. This batch of steel rails will be laid on the China-Laos railway connecting Kunming and Vientiane, the capital of Laos, reported chinanews.com Sunday.

BEIJING, May 11(Xinhua) -- A ship loaded with 8,100 tonnes of 25-meter steel rails sailed from Tianjin Port recently. This batch of steel rails will be laid on the China-Laos railway connecting Kunming and Vientiane, the capital of Laos, reported chinanews.com Sunday.

In order to ensure the quality and progress of the shipment, Tianjin Port (Group) Co., Ltd., which undertakes the export shipment, deployed in advance the operation efficiency, safety, quality and operation process, and cooperated with the railway department to reserve unloading area so as to facilitate train unloading, bundling operations and etc.

The China-Laos railway is an important infrastructure project linking China and Laos as well as an important part of the Trans-Asian Railway. Recently, with the official opening of the Xinping tunnel in Yunnan, the railway track laying work has also been paced up.

The project started in December 2016 and is scheduled to be completed and open to traffic in December 2021.
