KATHMANDU, May 6 (Xinhua) -- Nepal on Wednesday received fresh donation of medical supplies from China including KN 95 masks, disposable medical masks and personal protective equipments (PPEs) to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, a senior official of the Nepali government said.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19, Nepal has been receiving donations of medical items from the Chinese government and Chinese private enterprises to fight the pandemic.
In a press briefing on Wednesday, Bikas Devkota, spokesperson at Nepal's Ministry of Health and Population said that his ministry received 10,000 KN95 masks, 338,000 disposable surgical masks and 9,000 PPEs and goggles from the Chinese embassy in Nepal and the Department of Asian Affairs under China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi confirmed the handover of the medical goods on a tweet on Wednesday. The Chinese embassy had donated medical goods to Nepal late in March. Those goods were delivered to Nepal on a chartered flight. Enditem
