BEIJING, April 24 (Xinhua) -- The Securities Association of China Friday reported that 133 securities companies realized operating income of 98.33 billion yuan and net profits of 38.87 billion yuan in the first quarter of 2020, according to unaudited financial statements of the companies.
Data also showed that 118 securities firms in the first quarter made positive profits.
Specifically, among the main businesses of the industry, net income earned from brokerage business, securities underwriting and sponsor, investment advisory, asset management, financial advisory, interests and securities investment was 29.47 billion yuan, 9.66 billion yuan, 1.36 billion yuan, 923 million yuan, 6.67 billion yuan, 12.93 billion yuan and 29.19 billion yuan.
By the end of March, 133 securities companies had total assets of 7.89 trillion yuan, net assets of 2.09 trillion yuan, net capital of 1.67 trillion yuan, balance of customer transaction settlement of 1.57 trillion yuan and total principle entrusted funds of 12.02 trillion yuan.
