BEIJING, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese tech giant Tencent signed on Wednesday a strategic cooperation framework agreement with China Merchants Port Group to jointly build world-class intelligent ports, the Xinhua-run China Securities Journal reported on Wednesday.
Under the agreement, the two sides will further advance the deep integrated development of next-generation information technology and ports, delve into the various fields of smart ports, smart logistics, and smart trade, improve the level of intelligence, information, and digital development, and jointly build world-class green and intelligent ports.
Tang Daosheng, senior executive vice president with Tencent, noted that Tencent will take advantages of customer to business (C2B) to promote the connectivity of the port and shipping ecosystem, form a smart port ecological collaboration network and develop smart port and shipping application scenario in an effort to better serve the construction of smart ports.
Bai Jingtao, CEO of China Merchants Port Group, mentioned that China Merchants Port Group has boasted the most abundant application scenarios for the construction of smart ports and planned to achieve its development goal of becoming a world-class comprehensive port service provider by 2022.(Edited by Yang Yifan with Xinhua Silk Road, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
