GUANGZHOU, March 24 (Xinhua) -- Game giants Tencent and NetEase have rounded out the top two positions in a global application publisher ranking.
It is the second year in a row that the two companies took the top two spots in the Top 52 App Publishers ranking by global app market data provider App Annie. U.S. company Activision Blizzard stood at No. 3 for a second year.
The ranking was based on the comprehensive revenue from the iOS and Google Play systems from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 last year.
A total of 11 Chinese companies were on the list. Five Asian companies made it in the top 10.
Tencent announced last week that its profit attributable to shareholders increased by 19 percent year on year to 93.3 billion yuan (about 13.2 billion U.S. dollars) last year.
In 2019, its total operating revenue rose by 21 percent from a year earlier to 377.3 billion yuan, the company said in its annual financial report.
NetEase reported 15.7-percent net revenue growth in 2019.
