Abstract : East China's Qingdao port Saturday saw the maiden voyage of a container route linked to Southeast Asia.

BEIJING, March 23 (Xinhua) -- East China's Qingdao port Saturday saw the maiden voyage of a container route linked to Southeast Asia.

It is a new international container route launched by Qingdao port this year and also the port's 171st container route.

It is reported that the weekly route will make stopovers in ports of Hong Kong and Ho Chi Minh.

Up to now, Qingdao port has launched a total of 171 container routes, of which 143 are routes for foreign trade.

During the critical period of the epidemic prevention and control, Qingdao port has made efforts to enhance the customs clearance.

At present, Qingdao port has fully resumed operation of the routes. From March 1 to 19, Qingdao port's foreign trade container throughput increased by 7 percent year-on-year, and heavy containers for exports increased by 9.8 percent year-on-year.
