BEIJING, March 20 (Xinhua) -- Tongliao-Murmansk China-Europe freight train launched by Liaoning Port Group has completed its first transport mission smoothly on March 17.
Fully loaded with drilling rods, electronics and other goods totaling 1,450 tonnes, the train started from Tongliao inland port, a transportation hub in eastern Inner Mongolia on March 5 and arrived in Murmansk on March 17, traveling more than 9,200 kilometers.
In order to ensure a smooth export channel for hinterland enterprises during the epidemic, Liaoning Port Group launched the freight train in a market-oriented way.
From the beginning of the year, Tongliao inland port has run ten China-Europe freight trains, with a cumulative shipment of more than 800 TEUs.
