CHONGQING, March 4 (Xinhua) – The trip for freight trains from Chongqing to Europe has been shortened since China's railway operator upped the speed of the freight trains along the Lanzhou-Chongqing Railway in west China in February.
The Lanzhou-Chongqing Railway, 886 kilometers long, is a section of the China-Europe freight train line, between Lanzhou, capital of northwest China’s Gansu Province, and Chongqing Municipality, southwest China. China's railway operator in charge of the section raised the speed of the freight train from 80km per hour to 90km per hour on Feb. 19.
Data shows that since the speed increase, China-Europe freight trains had made 16 trips via Lanzhou-Chongqing Railway by the end of February, indicating a recovery of rail trade amid the epidemic. (Edited by Jiang Feifan; 346129473@qq.com)
