BEIJING, March 2 (Xinhua) -- China Evergrande Group, one of the world's top 500, has seen booming property sales online in February.
A total of 99,141 housing units developed by the group were subscribed online in February, with a total value of 102.67 billion yuan (about 14.69 billion U.S. dollars) after the discount, according to Liu Xuefei, vice president of Evergrande Real Estate Group Limited, at a press conference on Sunday.
She said that from March 1st, Evergrande Group will continue to promote online sales and lower the subscription threshold. Customers need to pay only 2,000 yuan to preorder an apartment online.
To minimize impact of the COVID-19 outbreak, the group rolled out incentives to lure domestic consumers via online subscriptions.
Evergrande has not announced its February sales results. Data released by cricchina.com, a real estate big data service provider, shows that China Evergrande achieved sales of 47 billion yuan in February, a year-on-year increase of 118 percent. As of the end of February, its cumulative sales had reached 87.55 billion yuan. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
