Abstract : According to news from the Information Office of Chaeng Watthana Government Complex, the cabinet meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, will be held on Monday as the House of Representatives will begin to consider a motion of no confidence against the government this afternoon.

InfoQuest (February 24, 2020) -- According to news from the Information Office of Chaeng Watthana Government Complex, the cabinet meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, will be held on Monday as the House of Representatives will begin to consider a motion of no confidence against the government this afternoon. The review of the motion of no confidence will last from February 24 to 27.

High on the agenda for the cabinet meeting is the Ministry of Finance's submission to the cabinet for consideration of a new package of economic stimulus measures that will focus on spurring domestic consumption to boost confidence, and will open a new round of registration for low-income people who can claim state benefits to drive money into the economy through public consumption.

Measures will also be taken to boost tourism, which is affected by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The Ministry of Public Health will report on the latest situation of the COVID-19 virus and plan to propose to the National Committee for the Prevention and Control of Emerging Infectious Diseases this afternoon that the prevention and control measures should be upgraded to Level 3.

The Ministry of Finance will also submit compensation rules to the State Enterprise Policy Office and subcommittees appointed by the State Enterprise Policy Office. The Ministry of Energy will submit a report on the results of the preparation of subsidiary regulations under the Oil Fund Act. As for the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC), it will submit reports on the implementation of the post-disaster recovery and relief plan for farmers hit by rainstorms and floods in 2019.

In addition, the cabinet is expected to consider relief plans for local people living in Nakhon Nayok and Prachinburi affected by forest fires in the world heritage site Khao Yai-Thap Lan National Park. The fire is now under control, but may cause PM2.5 level to rise.
